This large replica presides over the entrance to the ‘Earth Today’ exhibition. It is one of just two replicas in the world of this mosasaur (carnivorous marine reptile) that lived 80 million years ago in what is now Colorado (USA).
Prognathodon stadtmani comes from the Mancos Shale mountain formation in Colorado (USA), whose age is estimated at 80 million years. It is 11 metres high and the head is 1.30 metres long.
