The Consortium of the Museu de Ciències Naturals de Barcelona is a public entity made up of the Generalitat de Catalunya (Catalan regional government) and the Ajuntament de Barcelona (Barcelona City Council), with its own legal status, incorporated on 21 November 2011.

Organisation
The Museum has a management body and is organised into four large departments: Jardí Botànic; Collections, Research and Documentation; Public programmes; and Administration and Resources.
