This exemplar, considered one of the geological jewels in the Museum, is found in the first display cases in the rocks and minerals section of the ‘Earth Today’ exhibition.

Pyromorphite is an aggregate of very large, dark green hexagonal crystals composed of lead chlorophosphate. This is one of the most valuable mineral species in the Museum and has been much photographed and disseminated. It forms part of the Vidal Collection.
