    Transport         

    Metro: L1 (red line) and L3 (green line). Station: Plaça Espanya.
    From Plaça Espanya there is a walk of 2.5 km, which takes around 35 minutes. Buses are also available

    Buses:

    •  No. 150: take the bus at Plaça Espanya/Maria Cristina and get off at the stop in Av. de l’Estadi Olímpic (there is a 5-10 minute walk to the Botanical Garden)
    • No. 13: the stop is in front of the Botanical Garden
    • No. 55: get off at the stop Viver Tres Pins (5-10 minutes walk to Jardí Botànic)

    Tourist bus: Red route (runs from April 15 to September 25)

    By car: the nearest car park is beside the entrance to the Botanical Garden

    Montjuïc Funicular Railway: the funicular connects up with Metro lines L3 and L2. There is a 10-15 minute walk to the Botanical Garden

    Latest news: Montjuic Funicular service will be temporarily closed between November 15 and December 5, 2017, both included, due to technical revision and installation work. A special bus service will be available to users between Paral·lel and Parc de Montjuïc, which will work in the following hours:

    • Weekdays from 7:30 to 8:00 p.m.
      Saturdays and holidays 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

    • From October to March: Monday to Sunday, from 10 to 17 h
    • From April to September: Tuesday to Sunday from 10 am to 19 h

    Note: last admission half an hour before closing time.

    Closed

    • January 1, May 1, June 24 and December 25

    Free admission

    • The first Sunday of each month, all day, and Sundays throughout the year from 15 h
    • February 12 (Saint Eulàlia); May 18 (International Museum Day), and September 24 (La Mercè)

    • Jardí Botànic: € 3.50
    • Jardí ticket + temporary exhibition: € 5
    • Combined admission Museu de Ciències Naturals – Jardí Botànic: € 7

    Reduced admission

    • Jardí Botànic: € 1.70
    • Jardí ticket + temporary exhibition: € 2,50
    • Combined admission Museu de Ciències Naturals – Jardí Botànic: € 3.50

    Who is eligible for reduced admission?

    • Peopled aged from 16 to 29 years
    • Peopled aged 65 and over
    • Unemployed people and holders of the targeta rosa reduïda (“Reduced Pink Card”) card
    • Families with a maximum of two accompanying adults, providing one is the father, the mother or the legal guardian. There must be at least one member under 16 years
    • Holders of the família nombrosa large family card
    • Holders of the família monoparental single parent family card
    • Holders of the Biblioteques de Barcelona library membership card
    • Groups of ten or more people

    In all cases, accreditation must be provided to prove the right to reduced admission prices.

    Free admission

    • Minors below 16 years
    • Members of the International Council of Museums (ICOM)
    • Members of the Associació de Museòlegs de Catalunya (Association of Museologists of Catalonia)
    • Professional tourist guides exercising their profession
    • Formal education teachers
    • Holders of targeta rosa gratuïta (“Free Pink Card”) card
    • Holders of the metropolitan pass for carers of people with disabilities
    • Journalists
    • Holders of the BCN Card
    • Registered people in “Gaudir més” will have free access to the Botanical Garden ( temporary exhibitions are not included).

    In all cases, accreditation must be provided to prove the right to free admission.

    Promotions

    Free visits by appointment can be arranged for:

    • Study groups during school times, morning or afternoon. Advance applications must be made to the Activities Department Museum
    • Groups from associations and not-for-profit organisations that meet any of the following requirements:
    • Associations and organisations linked to the territory covered by the museum or centre
    • Associations and organisations that endorse the Citizen Agreement for an Inclusive Barcelona whose work is dedicated particularly to social inclusion
    • Educational associations and organisations linked to the specialities of the collections at the museum or centre
    • Groups of people taking part at congresses of particular importance in Barcelona, in accordance with the annual list published by Consorci de Turisme de Barcelona (Barcelona Tourism Consortium)

    For holders of a valid tourist bus ticket, a 20% discount on the normal admission price, according to current agreement:

    • Combined admission Museu de Ciències Naturals – Jardí Botànic: € 5.60
    • Jardí Botànic: € 2.80
  • Recommendations

    Help us to protect and preserve the Garden respecting the environment and vegetation.

    The Garden has no lockers. We recommend that you do not carry bulky items.

    Comments or suggestions are welcome. The Garden has a complaints and/or suggestions forms available to visitors.

  • With children

    The Botanical Garden organises activities especially for children. These include games and exercises based on observation and handling examples from the Museum collections and the plant species in the Garden. In this way, young visitors learn about the natural sciences in an enjoyable way.

  • Groups

    The Botanical Garden organises activities and tours for groups on request. See all the possibilities at the Calendar of Events.

    Reduced admission prices are available for groups of a minimum 10 people. The reduced admission must be requested in advance on Tel. 93 256 22 20, Monday to Friday, from 10 am to 13 h and from 15 to 18 h or by email to: activmuseuciencies@bcn.cat.
