Many existing natural history collections belong to prívate individuals, collectors, public and religious schools, educational institutes and researchers, among others. Occasionally, the owners of such collections decide to donate them in order to guarantee their conservation or to make them available for the public in general. Collections are also accessioned into the Museum through bequest or deposit.
