One of the typical characteristics of birds is the great showiness of their plumage coloration. In the project, coloration marks relating to the show of dominance are studied and the importance of this factor in a social system of a species is analysed and the mechanisms that maintain the honesty. The Siskin is an ideal species for this kind of study.
Another group of signals studied in plumage color are related to signals mating, these helps the female to evaluate the quality of different male and to choose a mate.
