With few visible results to date, the Department of Non-Arthropod Invertebrates stands by its growing involvement in scientific activity associated with the marine environment.
The proposed strategy consists of establishing alliances with research teams in major research centres. The museum provides a destination for the research collections that these teams collect and provides dissemination and support for ensuring they are re-used scientifically to the greatest extent possible.
Since 2012, a reference collection of cnidarians has been created and the museum has just received a collection of bryozoans. The increased scientific potential of the museum is due to the incorporation of specimens of great scientific value that continue to provide results in research.
