Display cases in the vestibule of the Museu de Ciències Naturals de Barcelona in the Forum Park contain information about natural science museums and institutions in Catalonia, a series of local, county and supramunicipal centres that house collections from different disciplines, such as botany, zoology, geology and palaeontology. These centres provide an essential resource for the study, conservation and promotion of heritage in their territorial areas. More specifically, the display cases inform about the missions, collections and research projects pursued by these institutions, whilst also exhibiting representative objects from their collections that are on loan at the Museum.
These display cases are also used to exhibit donations received by the Museum and to show certain pieces.
