    Who is eligible for reduced admission fee?

    • Peopled aged from 16 to 29 years
    • Peopled aged 65 and over
    • Unemployed people and holders of the targeta rosa reduïda (“Reduced Pink Card”)
    • Families with a maximum of two accompanying adults, providing one is the father, the mother or the legal guardian. There must be at least one member under 16 years
    • Holders of the família nombrosa large family card
    • Holders of the família monoparental single parent family card
    • Holders of the Biblioteques de Barcelona library membership card
    • Groups of ten or more people

    In all cases, accreditation must be provided to prove the right to reduced admission prices.

    Free admission

    • Minors below 16 years
    • Members of the International Council of Museums (ICOM)
    • Members of the Associació de Museòlegs de Catalunya (Association of Museologists of Catalonia)
    • Professional tourist guides exercising their profession
    • Formal education teachers
    • Holders of the targeta rosa gratuïta (“Free Pink Card”)
    • Holders of the metropolitan pass for carers of people with disabilities
    • Journalists
    • Holders of the BCN Card
    • Registered people in “Gaudir més,” with free access to the permanent exhibitions of the Museu de Ciències Naturals.

    In all cases, accreditation must be provided to prove the right to reduced admission prices.

    Promotions

    Free visits by appointment can be arranged for:

    • Study groups during school times, morning or afternoon. Advance applications must be made to the Activities Department of Museum
    • Groups from associations and not-for-profit organisations that meet any of the following requirements:
    • Associations and organisations linked to the territory covered by the museum or centre
    • Associations and organisations that endorse the Citizen Agreement for an Inclusive Barcelona whose work is dedicated particularly to social inclusion
    • Educational associations and organisations linked to the specialities of the collections at the museum or centre
    • Groups of people taking part at congresses of particular importance in Barcelona, in accordance with the annual list published by Consorci de Turisme de Barcelona (Barcelona Tourism Consortium)

    For holders of a valid bus turístic tourist bus ticket, a 20% discount on the normal admission price, according to current agreement:

    • Combined admission fee, Museu de Ciències Naturals – Jardí Botànic: €5.60
    • Jardí Botànic: €2.80

     

     

  • Recommendations

    To make your visit more helpful be aware that:

    • At the Museum reception you will find special cabinets to store your folding bicycles.
    • The Museum does not have lockers for objects that have dimensions greater than 100 x 40 x 50 cm. We recommend you not bring rolled mobility systems as bicycles, skateboards, skates, or any other electrical transport, except those necessary for people with reduced mobility.
    • The Museum gives preferential entry to people with reduced mobility and their companions in queues to access the equipment.
    • Footwear must be worn inside the museum

    Children access

    • Children under 11 years, if not accompanied by parents or legal guardians, can not access the Museum in an autonomous way.
    • In case children between 11 and 14 years old want to access the Museum without the support of an adult, the customer service staff will inform them of the following:
      • Father, mother or legal guardian of the children must go to the Museum in person to fill out an authorization form that will be delivered at the ticket office with a photocopy of the DNI. Without this document, access to the Museum will not be allowed, except for the Media Library, which can be accessed without prior authorization.
      • This authorization will be valid for 6 months, so it will not be necessary to request each time you want to visit the Museum.
      • The customer service staff will accompany the children for whom authorization is granted.
      • If a child attends school hours, they will be informed that they can not access the Museum and that they have to return to their school.

     

    Comments or suggestions are welcome. The Museum has a complaints and/or suggestions forms available to visitors.

  • With children

    The Museu de Ciències Naturals organises activities for you and your family. These include games and exercises led by an educator and based on observation and handling examples from the Museum collections. In this way, young visitors learn about the natural sciences in an enjoyable way.

    Science nest

    This is an area devoted to our younger visitors (0-6 years), here with their schools or families. Its aim is to promote science and, above all, to enjoy science through discovery, spontaneous activity and play.

    Timetable:

    • Saturdays, from 11 to 14 h
    • Sundays, from 11 to 14 h and from 16 to 19 h

    Special timetable for Summer:

    • From 26 June to 2 September, from tuesday to sunday : from 11 to 13.30 h.

    NO prior registration. Registration must be done at the counter desk of the museum the same day. Each session lasts 30 minutes, and in each session may enter up to 10 children.

    Children who are eligible to participate in the activity (under 6 years) should always go with an adult. Only if one day one adult accompany children under age 6 and older, the older child entry will be allowed but the latter may not interfere with the development of the activity.

    The last session will begin 30 minutes before the Science nest closes.

    Reduced admission prices are available for groups of a minimum 10 people. The reduced admission must be requested in advance on tel. 93 256 22 20, Monday to Friday, from 9 to 13 h  or by email to: activmuseuciencies@bcn.cat.
