This species of Brahea is amongst the palms with the bluest leaves. All along the trunk are scars corresponding to the base of leaves that have gradually died with the passing of time, drying out and falling, or remaining there, dry, forming a kind of skirt that reaches down to the ground.
The flowers, some of the showiest of all palm species, appear in beautiful clusters formed by small, whitish, bisexual blooms.
