This exhibition-spectacle explains the origins, dynamism, and causes of biological diversity, as well as changes that have occurred. It also explains the importance of maintaining biodiversity and how we can preserve it.
The exhibit has of 8 areas: the five senses uses a variety of stimuli to introduce the perception of reality; the five continents shows the dynamics behind the formation of the large tectonic plates and submerged areas that have enabled evolution and diversification of life to occur; the five characteristics of life explains how all living beings on the planet are related; the five kingdoms is an introduction to the number of known species, grouped in kingdoms, and helps the visitor to understand the extraordinary diversity of life; the five extinctions presents the great extinctions that have occurred so far, as well as the main causes that may lead to a sixth extinction, which is emerging as a consequence of human activity; the five reasons highlights the scientific, economic, and ethical reasons why we should prevent the loss of the great asset that is biodiversity; finally, the five examples explains what can be done to halt the current decline of biodiversity and maintain the planet’s health.
