For two decades, the mission of the cultural organisation MontPhoto, organiser of the International Nature Photography Competition and of the festival MontPhoto FEST, has been to highlight, promote and disseminate the art of nature photography and to contribute to the protection of the environment, conservationism and ecologism.
Innovative and inspiring images, unknown places, new visions of living beings, surprising behaviour or new interpretations of what is already known. This is an approach that documents the diversity, the beauty, the mystery and the fragility of life on Earth.

For MontPhoto, photography competitions are not merely an end in themselves, but rather vehicles for achieving another, much more important aim: the dissemination of the participating works and of their authors.
Many pictures have been received over the course of all these years; thousands of images entered into the competition by photographers from all over the world. This retrospective exhibition will enable visitors to admire some of the most beautiful photographs presented for the MontPhoto competition over the last twenty years.
